About the Artist
Dana’s art is inspired by her first notions of joy, discovered in nature sometime in her early childhood. She grew up on a river in southern Georgia, where the waters slow down and settle, and much of her childhood was spent on or in this water. The best thing she discovered was a notion that the beauty and mystery of these places were pointing her to something that was beyond the real, something spiritual: Was it her first experience of joy? Whatever it is, that is what she would like to share with her collectors through her paintings.
There is a smoky feel to Dana’s paintings – a mystery of place and of time. Her work is highly collected, perhaps because of it’s ubiquitous nature and feel.
