Diane Ainsworth

About the Artist

From a very early age, Diane Ainsworth studied art privately, then majored in fine art at Oklahoma University and the University of Tulsa.  She continued studying at the Baum Art School in Pennsylvania.  Originally a water colorist, she began to favor oils after attending plein air workshops in Taos, New Mexico.  After founding the Oklahoma Society of Impressionists, Diane moved to Taos where she won awards and taught workshops.  Diane would call herself a spontaneous painter. She sees her work as an exercise in light and color. After visiting the Pacific Northwest, she found that she was fascinated by the abstract designs made by the boats in the harbors and their reflections.  Her recent work has shifted toward abstract expressionism.  She show in galleries from coast to coast and teaches workshops.
