MANTY DEY

Manty Dey (b. 1988 Kumarghat, India) is a visual artist working in Atlanta, GA. Dey earned a BFA in painting and drawing from Georgia State University, and an MFA from the University of Georgia.

She creates botanical paintings based on her daily surroundings and observations. Each layer unveils traces of intentional and improvised gestures as they accumulate and dissolve over time and temperament.

Alison is a self-taught, contemporary artist based just outside of the Atlanta area.  Influenced by her woodworking father, interiors-loving mother, artist-aunt, and her grandparents whose favorite hobby was fashioning objects out of wood and painting them, Alison fell in love with creating from an early age.

She grew up in the Atlanta area and graduated from the University of Georgia, and later from Mercer Law School. She eventually put down the legal pad for the paintbrush and now paints and raises her four young daughters with her husband in Marietta, Georgia.

ALICIA HAUFF

Since taking the necessary leap from a community nursing practice to a professional art practice in 2021, I’ve been riding the waves of change in identity, worldviews, and the nature of relationships to self, each other, and the collective.

After a period of quiet recalibration, I began following the breadcrumb trail of what sparks me alive—the natural scientist and explorer in me was waiting.

Today, my work combines elements of ecology, natural history, folklore, and, most importantly, our relationship with the Land we call home. I want to tell the stories of other non-human beings, and challenge the narratives that disconnect us from the earth. Every painting, every series is a celebration and elevation of these elder kin and their stories. Every ink and ink painting created are both inquiries and wild discoveries, magic in the mundane.”

JEAN GRAY MOHS

Gray Mohs, a North Carolina native, is an artist who intricately melds science and spirit in her abstract creations. Her work is deeply informed by her personal journey through chronic illness and past disability, resulting in art that explores emotional and physical vulnerability, and the resilient human spirit.

Focusing primarily on painting and sculpture, Mohs employs diverse media to investigate the nuanced relationship between human strength and fragility. She often contrasts materials like maple plywood and waxed thread to symbolize the merging of separate entities into harmonious balance, reflecting her own transformative experience with a double lung transplant. Her creations resonate with those intimately acquainted with the interplay of strength and fragility in the face of chronic illness.
