Lenn Hopkins

Subject matter is secondary to emotional stimulation when Lenn Hopkins creates her paintings. Whether it's the beauty and innocence of children or the character, quirkiness, and history of rural landscapes and relics, she bonds with each of her subjects and strives to convey that emotion to the viewer. She renders her paintings in a number of ways which she chooses according to the subject matter and what she decides will convey her message in the most interesting and captivating way. Born in Macon, Georgia, Lenn began painting at an early age. She graduated from Medical College of Georgia with a degree in Allied Health. After marriage she rekindled her love of art by attending classes at Augusta State University, Savannah College of Art and Design, and studying at workshops with Lori Keith Robinson, Janet Powers, and James Langley, to name a few. She experimented in several mediums but eventually returned to the canvas. She lives in Waynesboro, Georgia, on the family farm where it's not unusual to find her amongst farm animals or rambling around old relics with a sketch pad, paint brush, and easel in hand. Lenn is a member of Oil Painters of America and American Impressionist Society.
