Caroline grew up in Nashville, Tennessee surrounded by the canvases and art books of her mother, portrait artist Anne Rodgers, while eagerly tagging along on every visit to the museum. Together, they studied drawing at the Art Student’s League in New York while Caroline was still in high school. She later studied art history at Sewanee: The University of the South, followed by formal training at the Ryder Studio in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Studio Escalier in Argenton Chateau, France. While her portrait style has remained consistent throughout the years, she enjoys the freedom to explore color, composition and new mediums through her abstract work. She rarely approaches the canvas with a plan. Rather, she enjoys indulging her more adventurous and carefree side – allowing each piece to paint its own story.
