Our Creative Crush this month is the wonderfully talented Hannah Bureau! From her studio in Massachusetts, Hannah paints the coastlines, marshes, and dunes of New England. She works right where landscape meets abstraction. Horizon lines, drifting clouds, and the soft suggestion of trees and water are all there, but they melt into something more open and dreamlike. Lately she’s been lowering her horizons to make room for big, luminous skies, and the result feels like a deep breath of fresh air. Her soft, tranquil palette and gentle layers of color give each painting a sense of calm and quiet nostalgia. They feel like places you’ve been before, somewhere between the real and the remembered. You can feel it in every piece!
