Our Creative Crush this month is the wonderfully talented Laura Roebuck! Our Creative Crush this month is the wonderfully talented Laura Roebuck! Laura has carried a curiosity for nature and all its little wonders since childhood, and that same inquiring eye drives her work today. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, she translates her impressions onto paper and canvas. She lets the details fall away into abstraction so that each mark serves the whole. Color, pattern, and form come together in images you can take in literally, yet they still hold that hard-to-name quality only abstraction can offer. Laura is always exploring new mediums and subjects, but one thing stays constant: for her, the act of making a mark is joy in itself. You can feel it in every piece!
