Sky Hoyt has a gift for making ordinary things feel significant. Working with paper, fabric, paint, and fragments of her own past paintings, she builds surfaces that reveal themselves slowly — a pattern here, a bit of texture there, a vessel or a bloom emerging out of all that layering. There's a real sense of construction and revision in her work, which we love, because it mirrors the way we actually live with our things: adding, rearranging, holding on to what matters!
